As part of the efforts of the College of Engineering at Mustaqbal University to strengthen community engagement and spread academic awareness, the Department of Chemical Engineering and Oil Industries organized a scientific and orientation activity for students from a preparatory school in Hilla Governorate. The activity included a field visit to the university aimed at introducing students to the university environment and encouraging them to pursue higher education after completing the preparatory stage.
During the visit, students were introduced to the university’s colleges and various academic departments. They toured lecture halls and scientific laboratories equipped with modern technologies and listened to a comprehensive explanation about the nature of university education, available academic programs, admission mechanisms, and the role of the university in providing a supportive learning environment that helps develop students’ skills and build their academic and professional futures.
The visit was marked by active engagement from participating students, who expressed strong interest in the information presented and asked numerous questions reflecting their ambition and curiosity. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in helping them form a clear and realistic understanding of university life.
This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, by supporting learning pathways, enhancing awareness of the importance of higher education, and contributing to the preparation of an informed generation capable of actively contributing to community development
