Within the framework of the Deanship of the College of Education’s keenness, represented by His Excellency Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, Dean of the College, to maintain direct communication with new students and to prepare an appropriate academic environment for them, Prof. Dr. Thanaa Baha’a Al-Din Abdullah, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College, met with first-year students of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences on the first day of their official attendance, on Tuesday الموافق 23/12/2025, at 8:30 a.m. in Hall 108, Humanities Building. The meeting lasted for two hours, during which the students were congratulated and welcomed on their admission to this distinguished department. An introductory session was conducted in which the Head of the Unit introduced herself and got to know the students in terms of their names, academic averages, specialization (scientific or literary), place of residence, and type of study (morning or evening), in addition to their رغبة in joining this specialization. Following the introduction, a group counseling session was held, during which discussion focused on how to plan for their new university academic life and adapt to it, the subjects included in the annual academic system, methods of student assessment such as daily, monthly, and semester examinations, daily activities, distribution of grades, specialized subjects, the weight of core subjects and subsidiary courses, as well as the weekly academic schedule. The session also addressed student discipline regulations regarding attendance and absences, the importance of modesty in external appearance, adherence to authentic moral values, appropriate behavior with peers, mutual respect among students and with faculty members, respect for the university campus and its sanctity, and preserving its property. It was emphasized that this stage represents an important beginning in their scientific and professional journey, given its reflections on their personal and public lives. Students were also provided with guidance on setting daily and weekly study plans, time management, caring for physical and mental health in terms of nutrition, sleep, and disease prevention, striving for academic excellence, and building a sound university personality. In addition, it was highlighted that they are fortunate to be admitted to Al-Mustaqbal University, which ranks first at the international, Arab, and local levels, and for providing a stimulating educational environment that helps students achieve success, excellence, distinction, and creativity. The session was attended by Assistant Lecturer Jaafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri , instructor of the English language course.
