Fourth-year students in the Biomedical Engineering Department launched an awareness campaign titled “The Dangers of Energy Drinks and Stimulants,” under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Iman Yasser Hussein and Engineer Zahraa Mohammed. The campaign aimed to highlight the negative health effects of excessive consumption of these drinks, particularly among young people and university students. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal (Goal 3), the campaign addressed the potential risks of energy drinks and stimulants, such as heart problems and high blood pressure, their negative impact on the nervous system, sleep quality, and concentration, as well as their link to short- and long-term stress and tension. The campaign also focused on explaining the active ingredients in these drinks, such as caffeine and sugars, and their physiological effects from a scientific and bioengineering perspective. Al-Mustaqbal University is ranked first among private universities.
