The Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the results of the 2025 Iraqi University Rankings, which evaluated more than 100 public and private universities based on rigorous criteria related to the quality of the educational environment, institutional performance, and scientific research output.
The ranking, conducted by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, assessed the performance of 103 higher education institutions according to nine main indicators: institutional accreditation (15%), global rankings (10%), research effectiveness (35%), sustainable development and green indicators (10%), academic compliance and scientific reality (5%), awards (5%), international diversity (10%), occupational health, safety, and environmental protection (5%), and university activities (5%).
The results placed Al-Mustaqbal University first among private universities nationwide, followed by Warith Al-Anbiyaa University in second place and the Islamic University in third. Among public universities, the University of Baghdad ranked first, followed by the University of Technology and the University of Basrah.
Notably, Al-Mustaqbal University achieved a score of 62.46, surpassing the University of Baghdad, which scored 60.07—highlighting Al-Mustaqbal University’s strong performance across the evaluation indicators.
On this occasion, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, extended his congratulations to the university’s faculty members, researchers, staff, and students, emphasizing that this national achievement is the result of strategic planning, institutional teamwork, and sustained investment in scientific research and educational quality.
He affirmed that leading the national ranking sends a clear message that excellence is a strategic choice and leadership is built through determination and continuous effort, reiterating the university’s commitment to advancing research, developing academic programs, and strengthening partnerships in service of Iraq.
This achievement underscores Al-Mustaqbal University’s position as a leading academic institution capable of competing at the highest national and international standards, steadily advancing its academic, research, and societal impact.
