The College of Health and Medical Technologies – Department of Anesthesia Technologies at Mustaqbal University organized a scientific and humanitarian visit to the Blood Diseases (Thalassemia) Center in Babylon Governorate. The visit was supervised by Dr. Talib Jejan, Dr. Ahmed Khudair, and Mr. Ali Qasim Jawad, with the participation of a number of college students, as part of the College’s programs aimed at enhancing scientific awareness, promoting humanitarian values, and serving the community.
The visit included a humanitarian initiative represented by the distribution of gifts and flowers to patients, with the aim of providing psychological support, bringing joy to their hearts, and emphasizing the values of social solidarity and community responsibility.
The visit also featured an educational scientific lecture addressing hereditary blood diseases in terms of their types, causes, prevention methods, and approaches to management, with a focus on the importance of early screening and its role in reducing the prevalence of these diseases and promoting public health.
The administration of the Center praised this initiative, expressing appreciation for the active role of the College of Health and Medical Technologies in supporting health institutions and strengthening community partnerships. The students, in turn, expressed their happiness at participating in the visit due to its direct scientific and humanitarian impact.
This visit forms part of a series of activities implemented by the College to prepare students with integrated scientific and humanitarian awareness, enabling them to contribute effectively to community service, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), thereby contributing to the development of a healthy, aware, and sustainable society.
