As part of strengthening academic and administrative communication with first-year students, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), the Department of Optical Technologies organized an awareness and orientation meeting for its students, with the participation of the Head of the Department and the Student Affairs Officer at the College of Health and Medical Technologies. The meeting was characterized by a high level of professionalism and responsibility and aimed to prepare students for positive integration into university life from the outset, thereby enhancing opportunities for inclusive and equitable learning.
The meeting addressed key topics, including the student affairs system, mechanisms for organizing student activities, financial payments, as well as a detailed explanation of examination instructions and regulations. Emphasis was placed on the importance of commitment to official attendance as a fundamental pillar of academic success and university discipline, contributing to the improvement of the quality of the educational process. The session also provided an opportunity to respond to students’ inquiries and address the challenges they may encounter at the beginning of their academic journey.
This meeting reflects the commitment of the department leadership and the Student Affairs Unit to promoting a culture of compliance and awareness of university regulations and instructions, while strengthening students’ sense of belonging and responsibility, in line with the requirements of sustainable development. Such efforts contribute to creating a stable and motivating educational environment that supports academic excellence and sustainable success.
