President of Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the World Future Energy Summit 2026 in Abu Dhabi

Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, participated in the World Future Energy Summit 2026, held from January 13 to 15, 2026, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The summit took place as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, convened under the theme “An Integrated Launch Toward the Future.” The summit is regarded as one of the world’s leading platforms specializing in sustainable energy and technological innovation. The summit witnessed broad participation by a distinguished group of global leaders, decision-makers, innovators, and experts from around the world, aiming to discuss and formulate practical strategies to achieve a sustainable future. This was pursued through the development of advanced solutions in renewable energy, smart cities, water technologies, climate finance markets, and by strengthening international cooperation in the clean energy sector. The event also featured the participation of more than 700 international companies, in addition to the allocation of a Green House Zone to support startups, an interactive platform for clean technologies, and the organization of a range of sustainability-focused activities. During his participation, the University President conducted an extensive tour of the exhibition halls and participating companies, where he reviewed the latest technological solutions, artificial intelligence–based applications, innovations in climate finance, and developments in food and water security. He also met with a number of investors, decision-makers, and private sector representatives to explore opportunities for cooperation and the potential launch of future joint projects and programs. The tour included a visit to the pavilion of Masdar, the event’s sponsoring organization, as well as the Zayed Sustainability Prize. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi also attended several panel discussions addressing the visions of world leaders on the future of energy and participated in the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), which emphasized the importance of collective action and strengthening international partnerships to achieve ambitious strategic goals in sustainability. This participation underscores Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to keeping pace with the latest global trends in energy and sustainability, and to reinforcing its role as an active academic institution that contributes to sustainable development and enhances regional and international cooperation.
