The campaign highlighted the vital role of houseplants in creating a balanced and healthy indoor environment, due to their direct impact on improving air quality, supporting mental health, and promoting feelings of calm and comfort. It also addressed the environmental and scientific aspects of plants, emphasizing that they are not merely decorative elements, but effective natural systems that contribute to oxygen production, air humidification, and pollutant reduction. As such, they represent an environmentally friendly alternative to costly electric air purification devices.
This campaign aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 3, 11, 12, and 13, reflecting the department’s commitment to its academic and community role in spreading a culture of sustainability and linking scientific knowledge with everyday practices that contribute to building a healthier and more sustainable environment.
