Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Mardas, Group A5 completed a distinguished project that embodies the intersection of technology and medicine: the design of a prototype transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) system for treating depression.
About the project:
TMS is a revolutionary, non-invasive technology that uses pulsed magnetic fields to stimulate specific brain regions (such as the prefrontal cortex). It is a highly effective option for cases of depression resistant to traditional treatments.
Visible technical components:
• Microcontroller: An Arduino Nano board is used to control the timing and frequency of the pulses.
• Coils: Custom-designed electromagnetic circuits are used to generate the required field.
• Power supply system: A continuous power supply is used to ensure signal stability.
• Indicator interface: LEDs monitor the system's operating status.
