As part of the activities of EURAS Academy 2026, Al-Mustaqbal University organized a specialized scientific session entitled “Sustainable Transformation and Innovation” under the patronage of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. The session featured lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Silwan Ubaid Wahid, Dr. Tarek Jawad Al-Mousawi, Director of the Scientific Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, Dr. Abdullah Mousa Kazem, Head of the Scientific Affairs Department at Al-Qasim Al-Khadra University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afaq Ibrahim, Project Director of the One Million Trees Planting Initiative. The session addressed the concept of sustainable innovation not merely as a technical choice, but as a vital necessity to reshape the future of the engineering sector, ensuring resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact. The speakers enriched the session with their scientific insights, emphasizing that the transition toward smart and green solutions is a driving force for achieving sustainable development goals by integrating modern technologies into the construction of resilient infrastructure capable of addressing climate challenges. It was also highlighted that innovation in construction materials and implementation methods is the cornerstone of comprehensive development sought by academic institutions. The session concluded with recommendations stressing the importance of collaborative research efforts to adopt these environmental solutions in future construction projects, thereby enhancing the scientific leadership of Al-Mustaqbal University as the foremost private university in Iraq, always at the forefront of adopting global innovative visions.
