Under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in partnership with the European–Asian Union of Universities (EURAS), Al-Mustaqbal University has launched the activities of the EURAS Academy 2026 Forum, held for the first time in Iraq, with wide participation from higher education leaders and academics from within Iraq and abroad. The opening ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili, the President of EURAS and President of Istanbul Aydın University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, and the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, in addition to a number of university presidents, deans, professors, and researchers. The opening speeches emphasized the importance of international partnerships in developing higher education, enhancing academic dialogue, and keeping pace with global transformations in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, quality assurance, and sustainability. The forum is held under the theme: “Quality, Sustainability, and Global Partnerships: Transforming Higher Education in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region,” and includes specialized panel discussions addressing governance, digital transformation, internationalization, and sustainability in higher education. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University affirmed that hosting this forum reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening international academic partnerships and consolidating its position as a leading university in supporting excellence, innovation, and the future of higher education in Iraq and the region.
