chaired an expanded meeting for all college staff, held on Tuesday, 3/2/2026, at 11:00 a.m., in the Conference Hall within the Engineering Building, to discuss preparations for the start of the second semester for advanced-stage students. The meeting addressed a set of organizational instructions aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of attendance and the proper organization of theoretical and practical aspects. The Dean emphasized the importance of compensating for the first week of the semester by holding electronic or in-person sessions according to the nature of the courses, with the possibility of utilizing practical lectures as an alternative to theoretical ones when necessary. He also stressed the need to hold special meetings for graduation projects and to develop a clear work plan for the second semester, in coordination with students and supervisors at suitable times, provided that these meetings are recorded in the electronic system for teaching load and lectures. Furthermore, he highlighted the role of course coordinators and heads of departments in organizing schedules to ensure that the next two weeks are dedicated exclusively to the theoretical component for courses that include practical aspects. In the same context, the Dean directed teaching assistants to prepare laboratory experiments and equipment during this period, organize students into groups according to appropriate time schedules that ensure optimal use of laboratories, and display students’ names, group lists, and laboratory occupancy schedules on laboratory notice boards. The meeting also confirmed that practical field visits and scientific trips are to be counted as part of the teaching load for instructors and teaching assistants, provided they are recorded in the electronic system. In addition, scientific and research activities as well as supervision duties are to be considered within the additional hours performed by faculty members and teaching assistants during official working hours. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean affirmed the college administration’s commitment to fully documenting all the above instructions and procedures in the electronic system, in accordance with the presentation delivered by the Information Technology Unit, in a manner that contributes to organizing academic work and providing a stable and well-structured educational environment throughout the second semester.
