In a step toward global engagement, Al-Mustaqbal University organized the international forum EURAS Academy 2026 in cooperation with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) on Thursday morning, 29 January 2026, at the university campus. The event was attended by the President of the Union, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, and a distinguished group of university presidents and ministerial representatives. The forum served as an important international academic platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise, reaffirming Al-Mustaqbal University’s advanced standing at both regional and international levels. Notably, it was the first international event of its kind to be hosted by an Iraqi university, bringing together a select group of academics, experts, and decision-makers. On the sidelines of the forum, and as a strategic step aimed at activating its outcomes and recommendations, a memorandum of joint scientific cooperation was signed between Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and Istanbul Aydin University, represented by its President Professor Dr. Mustafa Aydin, who also serves as President of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), which comprises more than 150 universities from Europe and Asia. The memorandum includes several areas of cooperation, most notably enhancing academic mobility for faculty members and students, developing joint scientific research, updating academic curricula, and exchanging expertise in the fields of technological innovation, university governance, and education diplomacy.
