Under the patronage of the esteemed Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rodhan Salman, Dean of the College, the College of Education – Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized an awareness and guidance lecture entitled “Ethics of the University Student” for first-year students of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Thanaa Baha’a Al-Din Abdullah, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., in Hall 108, Humanities Building. The lecture was attended and participated in by Assistant Lecturer Jaafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi and Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Amer Al-Marzouki.
The lecture addressed the concept of ethics and the importance of adhering to university ethics, academic ethics, ethics of dealing with others, ethics of self-learning, and the obligations toward the academic institution. It also discussed the ethical characteristics that a university student should possess and ways to build an ethical and academic personality that distinguishes the student from other groups in society, enabling them to serve as a role model in behavior and conduct and to become a positive individual capable of contributing to community development after graduation.
At the conclusion of the lecture, practical guidance and advisory tips were provided. This activity contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
