College of Health and Medical Technologies Commemorates World Cancer Day with Awareness Activities and Free Medical Screenings

Under the patronage of the President of Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized activities to commemorate World Cancer Day, observed on February 4, under the slogan “United by Unique.” This initiative was part of the College’s efforts to enhance health awareness regarding the importance of early detection and to support national and international efforts to combat cancer. The activities included a series of scientific and educational lectures addressing breast cancer and skin cancer, with a focus on self-examination methods, the significance of early diagnosis, and preventive measures. The campaign also provided free medical screenings, including examinations of the abdomen, pelvis, bladder, breast, and lymph nodes, in addition to practical training on breast self-examination. The campaign was conducted under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qaim, with the participation of a distinguished group of physicians from Al-Hillah Teaching Hospital, namely Dr. Walaa Nouri, Dr. Bashar Al-Araji, Dr. Hussein Safaa, Dr. Kazem Al-Juaifari, and Dr. Sarah Abdul Hassan Hamza, in support of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. The event was organized under the supervision of Engineer Hawraa Halim Al-Qaim, Head of the Student Activities Unit at the College, reaffirming the vital role of academic institutions in serving the community, promoting health culture, and enhancing preventive awareness among community members.
