The Department of biology organized an awareness campaign entitled “Be an Environment Friend and Save Energy”, under the supervision of Assist. Lect. Zainab Nazem Aziz, as part of the department’s efforts to raise environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students and staff of the university. The campaign aimed to educate everyone on the importance of rational energy consumption and the preservation of natural resources, highlighting the role of each individual in protecting the environment and reducing harmful emissions. The campaign activities included distributing informational brochures across the university corridors, containing practical tips for reducing electricity and water consumption, recycling, and adopting environmentally friendly practices in daily life. The campaign received great engagement from students and university staff, who participated in discussions and proposed innovative ways to conserve energy and enhance sustainability on campus. This campaign is part of a series of awareness initiatives implemented by the Department of biology, reinforcing its role in promoting a culture of environmental protection and instilling values of environmental responsibility in the new generation.
