Al-Mustaqbal University Launches the First Day of the Global Entrepreneurship Week with High-Quality Scientific and Entrepreneurial Programs

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the university campus witnessed, on the morning of Sunday, February 8, 2026, the launch of the first day of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, organized by the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division at the University Presidency for the period from February 8–12, 2026, with wide participation from academics and students. The event commenced with a speech delivered on behalf of the University Presidency by Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, in which he emphasized Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, and supporting students and graduates in transforming creative ideas into productive projects that contribute to strengthening the knowledge economy and meeting labor market needs. The first day’s program included the screening of a documentary film entitled “A Global Vision… with an Iraqi Spirit,” highlighting the university’s academic journey and achievements. This was followed by honoring a group of young entrepreneurs from among the university’s graduates, in recognition of their outstanding success stories in business administration and entrepreneurial projects, and their role in supporting economic and social development. The activities also included the افتتاح of the Entrepreneurial Projects Exhibition, which reflected a high level of creativity and innovation, showcasing students’ ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application and present viable solutions based on solid scientific foundations. In addition, the first day featured the inaugural panel discussion titled “Environmental Entrepreneurship and the Green Economy,” with the participation of Eng. Khalid Kazem Al-Salhi, Head of the Sustainable Development Division at the University Presidency; Dr. Wafaa Salah Al-Din Hamandi, organic agriculture expert and Director of Shala Research Center; Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Hussein, organic agriculture expert and Director of Saleh & Teen Organic Agriculture Company; and Eng. Makki Hadi Imran, Director of Babil Environment. The speakers discussed the prospects of environmentally friendly entrepreneurial projects and their role in achieving sustainable development and enhancing environmental awareness. The first day concluded with a specialized training workshop delivered by Dr. Musaddaq Maher Abdul-Zahra, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Incubator at Al-Mustaqbal University, entitled “From Education to Innovation: The Role of Educational Robots in Building Entrepreneurship,” which addressed mechanisms for employing educational robots and artificial intelligence to create innovation-driven learning environments. Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in the Global Entrepreneurship Week reaffirms its commitment to building a university ecosystem that supports innovation and entrepreneurship, promotes entrepreneurial initiatives and startups, and ensures integration between higher education outcomes and labor market needs, in line with national orientations and the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in supporting the knowledge economy and sustainable development.
