A lecture entitled “History of Islamic Art” was held for second-year students – Department of Art Education, delivered by Lecturer Assistant M.M. Suhaila Kazem, as part of the department’s academic curriculum.
The lecture addressed the origins and development of Islamic art across different historical periods, highlighting its most prominent aesthetic and intellectual characteristics, such as geometric and vegetal ornamentation and Arabic calligraphy. It also reviewed the most important schools and historical stages of Islamic art and its role in expressing cultural and civilizational identity.
The lecture aimed to enhance students’ artistic and cognitive awareness and to develop their ability to understand Islamic heritage as one of the fundamental pillars of visual arts.
