The environment is one of the most important natural resources needed by humans, animals, and plants alike. It includes air, water, soil, forests, and water bodies, and it directly affects the life and quality of living beings. With industrial and technological advancement and increased human activity, the environment has become exposed to many risks, such as pollution, drought, deforestation, and climate change, making its preservation a human and moral duty. Importance of Preserving the Environment The importance of the environment can be summarized in several key points: Maintaining human health: Clean air and water are essential to prevent diseases and maintain overall health. Sustainability of natural resources: Protecting forests, water, and soil ensures that these resources are available for future generations. Protecting biodiversity: A healthy environment provides shelter for different living beings and contributes to ecological balance. Supporting the economy: A clean environment boosts tourism, agriculture, and industry, and reduces health costs caused by pollution. Ways to Preserve the Environment The environment can be preserved through several practical steps: Reducing pollution: By using public transportation, minimizing plastic use, and treating industrial waste before disposal. Afforestation: Planting trees in empty areas and forests helps absorb carbon dioxide, provide oxygen, and purify the air. Recycling: Sorting waste and reusing materials reduces the depletion of natural resources. Conserving resources: Reducing water and electricity consumption and using renewable energy such as solar and wind. Environmental awareness: Spreading environmental culture, encouraging communities to participate in environmental activities and volunteer campaign University of Al-Mustaqbal – The First and Leading Private University
