Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, Al-Mustaqbal University organized a specialized training workshop on Academic Performance Quality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning / National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology, with the participation of a distinguished group of university staff. The workshop was held in conjunction with the launch of the Global Entrepreneurship Week activities, reflecting the integration of national efforts to support the quality of higher education and promote entrepreneurial orientations within academic institutions.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Eng. Hussein Al-Ghartani, Director General of the National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology, who reviewed the most prominent international standards adopted in evaluating the quality of educational institutions’ performance. He highlighted the experiences of leading global universities in adopting creative ideas and high-quality scientific research and transforming them into entrepreneurial projects that contribute to job creation, support the national economy, and enhance the role of universities in achieving sustainable development.
The workshop, entitled “Academic Quality Management According to International Standards and Specifications – A Journey Toward International Accreditation,” witnessed wide participation from officials of Quality Assurance Units across the university’s colleges and departments. It addressed key concepts of academic quality, national and international accreditation requirements, and reviewed best global practices in institutional quality management.
In his welcoming speech, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, emphasized the importance of constructive cooperation with the National Center for Administrative Development and Information Technology, praising its pivotal role in supporting institutional development pathways and promoting a culture of quality and innovation. He noted that such cooperation contributes significantly to enhancing the performance of Iraqi universities in accordance with international standards.
He further explained that organizing this workshop aligns with the strategic vision of Al-Mustaqbal University, which places quality, innovation, and entrepreneurship at the forefront of its priorities, and seeks to build solid institutional capacities and provide a stimulating academic environment capable of transforming knowledge into tangible developmental impact.
He added that holding the workshop in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Week reflects the university’s orientation toward linking academic quality with entrepreneurial thinking, in line with global transformations in higher education and in support of enhancing graduates’ readiness for labor market requirements.
