The forum was held in the presence of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mundhir Fadhil Al-Dulaimi, along with a number of academics, researchers, and students. The forum aimed to discuss ways to promote the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, propose scientific and practical solutions to confront the phenomena of extremism and terrorism, and enhance the role of educational institutions, including the College of Administrative Sciences, in building a moderate discourse that supports societal stability and strengthens intellectual security. The forum opened with the Iraqi national anthem and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the souls of Iraq’s martyrs. This was followed by a speech delivered on behalf of the University President by Prof. Dr. Mohsen Abdul Ali Al-Furaiji, Advisor to the University Presidency, who emphasized that the University and all its colleges are no longer merely traditional educational institutions, but essential partners in intellectually protecting society, building awareness, promoting the values of moderation and tolerance, strengthening a culture of dialogue, and rejecting violence and extremism. The forum included two panel discussion sessions moderated by Eng. Khalid Kazem Al-Salihi, Director of the Sustainable Development Division at the University. The first session was dedicated to representatives of official institutions, during which the roles of security, educational, and youth institutions in confronting violent extremism were reviewed through preventive and awareness-based efforts, strengthening trust between citizens and official institutions, empowering youth, and building intellectual awareness within schools and educational institutions. The second panel session was dedicated to civil society organizations, where the efforts of institutions and organizations in promoting a culture of community peace, supporting sustainable development, and strengthening moderate cultural discourse were highlighted through awareness programs, workshops, and scientific courses, contributing to the prevention of extremist thought. The College of Administrative Sciences affirmed that its participation in this forum is in line with its mission to support intellectual security, consolidate administrative and ethical values in institutional work, and strengthen partnerships with state institutions and civil society organizations, contributing to building a safe and stable society based on the principles of social peace and sustainable development.
