The College of Law Participates in the First Scientific Forum to Reduce Road Accidents with a Research Paper on Artificial Intelligence

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Interior, Mr. Abdul Amir Kamel Al-Shammari, and with the follow-up of the Director General of Traffic, Lieutenant General Dr. Uday Samir Halim, and under the supervision of the Director of Babil Traffic, Brigadier (Legal) Salam Nouri Al-Awadi, Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the Babil Traffic Directorate, hosted the activities of the First Scientific Forum to Reduce Road Accidents under the slogan: “Towards a Scientific Strategy to Reduce Road Accidents,” with wide attendance from academics, security officials, and executive directors in Babil Governorate. The event witnessed active participation from the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University, as the College organized the forum in cooperation with the Traffic Directorate, reaffirming its academic and societal role in addressing vital issues that affect community safety and security. The College of Law also contributed a legal research paper entitled: “Artificial Intelligence and Its Role in Reducing Traffic Accidents,” which discussed the legal dimensions of using modern technologies in traffic management, the extent of their compatibility with applicable legislation, and the legal responsibilities arising from employing smart systems in road monitoring and traffic data analysis. The forum addressed several key themes, including: Employing smart monitoring systems and modern cameras to reduce accidents. Adopting digital systems in traffic management to enhance road safety. Presenting scientific studies and research on the causes of accidents and high-risk road points. Proposing applicable scientific plans and strategies for Babil Governorate, including community awareness, infrastructure development, and the promotion of safe driving culture. The Deanship of the College of Law emphasized that this participation aligns with the College’s commitment to linking scientific research with practical application and contributing to the development of legal and scientific solutions to reduce traffic accidents, thereby enhancing public safety and protecting lives and property. The College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its commitment to supporting scientific initiatives that serve the community and to strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and executive bodies to achieve sustainable development and societal security.
