The College of Dentistry at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a workshop entitled Citizenship and Peaceful Coexistence, delivered by Assistant Lecturer Dhumayaa Jabbar, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Dentistry and a distinguished group of faculty members. The workshop was held as part of the College’s program aimed at promoting national values and fostering a culture of coexistence within the academic community. The workshop sought to highlight the concept of citizenship as a comprehensive framework of rights and responsibilities, and as a foundation for building a cohesive society grounded in mutual respect and the rule of law. It also emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence as a pillar of social stability, as well as the role of educational institutions in spreading a culture of dialogue, acceptance of diversity, and rejection of intolerance. The session included a scientific presentation that addressed several key themes, most notably: – The concept of citizenship and its legal and social dimensions. – The values of tolerance and pluralism and their impact on strengthening social peace. – The role of the university in preparing a generation aware of national issues. – Mechanisms for reinforcing a culture of coexistence within the university environment. The workshop witnessed active engagement from attending faculty members, with constructive academic discussions that underscored the importance of integrating these principles into curricula and university activities, thereby contributing to a learning environment based on mutual respect and understanding.
