Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the Engineering Technical College, and in cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the University Presidency, and under the supervision and follow-up of the Summer Training Unit and the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College Deanship, the Engineering Technical College organized two specialized training courses in the fields of electric power generation plants and occupational safety in the engineering work environment, in cooperation with Energy Experts Company. These courses come within the framework of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing applied education and capacity building, Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) through introducing technologies related to power generation plants, as well as Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by qualifying students with occupational safety skills and labor market requirements. The courses aim to strengthen the practical aspect and link academic curricula with professional reality, contributing to the development of students’ technical and professional skills and preparing them for the engineering work environment. Both courses witnessed active participation from students of various engineering technical departments. The training program included theoretical topics and practical applications focusing on the operating mechanisms of power generation plants, principles of occupational safety, and preventive procedures at work sites. The College Deanship affirms its continued commitment to organizing high-quality training programs that contribute to developing students’ capabilities and refining their practical experience, enhancing their professional readiness and supporting their future careers. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first among private universities in Iraq.
