Biochemistry is considered one of the fundamental sciences that directly contributes to understanding the vital processes within the human body. This field has become central to medicine, particularly in diagnosing diseases and monitoring individuals’ health conditions. Many modern laboratory tests rely on biochemical analyses, such as measuring blood glucose levels, liver and kidney function tests, and analyzing lipids, proteins, and enzymes. These biological indicators help physicians detect diseases early, including diabetes, heart diseases, and liver and kidney disorders, thereby improving treatment outcomes and reducing complications. Biochemistry also plays an important role in disease prevention by enhancing scientific understanding of proper nutrition and the effects of vitamins and minerals on body health. In addition, it contributes to the development of medicines and vaccines and to improving modern therapeutic methods. In light of scientific and technological progress, reliance on biochemical techniques in research and medical applications continues to grow, making biochemistry one of the essential pillars in developing the healthcare sector and improving quality of life.
