In fulfillment of the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education). The Department of Optical Technologies organized a training workshop entitled “Dialogue Skills and Acceptance of Differences,” presented by Lecturer Samer Hussein and Ms. Ghufran Sabah, as part of its efforts to promote a culture of positive communication and reinforce the values of mutual respect within the university environment. The workshop aimed to develop students’ constructive dialogue skills, introduce them to effective communication methods, and explain mechanisms for managing discussions in a civilized manner, بعيد from intolerance and emotional reactions. It also addressed the importance of accepting diverse opinions and respecting intellectual and cultural diversity as a fundamental element in building a cohesive academic community. The workshop included practical activities and interactive exercises that directly engaged students, providing them with the opportunity to practice active listening skills, express their opinions politely, and deal with opposing viewpoints in a positive spirit. At the conclusion of the workshop, the presenters emphasized the importance of continuing such activities, as they contribute to preparing students with intellectual awareness and behavioral maturity, enabling them to engage in respectful dialogue and peaceful coexistence both inside and outside the university.
