Under the patronage of the President of AL- Mustaqbal University , Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and within the framework of the College of Science’s commitment to enhancing students’ scientific and academic competencies and keeping pace with modern scientific developments, the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, delivered an advanced scientific lecture within the Nanotechnology course for fourth-year students of the Medical Physics Department. The lecture presented a comprehensive scientific overview covering the fundamental concepts of nanotechnology and its modern applications in medical fields, particularly in disease diagnosis and treatment using nanoparticles. It also highlighted the growing role of nanotechnology in developing medical devices and improving the efficiency of medical imaging and radiation therapy techniques, contributing to the advancement of healthcare services in accordance with international scientific standards. The lecture witnessed remarkable scientific interaction from students, as an open discussion session allowed them to raise questions reflecting their academic awareness and scientific interest. Key future research challenges in medical physics and nanotechnology were also discussed, while students were encouraged to engage in scientific research and innovation as essential pillars of scientific progress. During the lecture, the Dean emphasized the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications and preparing qualified scientific cadres capable of keeping pace with rapid technological advancements, thereby enhancing higher education outcomes and serving society through the application of modern technologies in medical and therapeutic fields. This lecture comes as part of a series of scientific activities organized by the College of Science aimed at developing students’ scientific and research skills and strengthening an academic environment that supports creativity and scientific excellence. This activity aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing higher education quality, Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through supporting modern medical applications, and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting scientific research and advanced technologies, contributing to building a sustainable knowledge-based society driven by innovation and scientific development.
