The College of Dentistry at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness workshop entitled “Violence Against Women,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Evan Tahseen Abdul Hammadi, in the presence of the Dean of the College and a distinguished group of faculty members. The workshop was held as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to promote societal awareness and reinforce a culture of respect and the protection of human rights. The workshop aimed to shed light on the various forms of violence that women may experience and to examine their social and psychological impacts. It also emphasized the importance of institutional and community collaboration in addressing and reducing this phenomenon through the promotion of legal and social awareness, as well as the reinforcement of values of justice and equality. The session included a scientific presentation covering the primary causes of violence and its repercussions on both individuals and society. It further highlighted the role of educational institutions in raising awareness and fostering a supportive environment that respects women’s dignity and safeguards their rights. The workshop witnessed constructive discussions that underscored the importance of dialogue and continuous education in addressing sensitive societal issues. The College Deanship affirmed that organizing such workshops reflects its commitment to its educational and societal mission and its dedication to contributing to the development of a conscious community founded on mutual respect and the rejection of all forms of violence. This activity forms part of a series of awareness initiatives organized by the College in support of its academic and humanitarian mission and in reinforcement of social responsibility within the university community.
