As part of the requirements for the first course of Architectural Design, first-year students in the Department of Architectural Engineering implemented a foundational project entitled “3D Abstract Composition – Abstract Relationships”, today, Wednesday, 18-2-2026, as an initial step to develop their design and conceptual awareness.
The project aims to train students to understand the relationship between mass and space, and to grasp the principles of balance, rhythm, movement, contrast, unity, and dominance through an abstract approach that avoids mimicking real forms. Students expressed their ideas through three-dimensional models reflecting their ability to analyze, compose, and formulate an organized and innovative design vision.
The number of submitted works exceeded 200 projects, varying in their treatments and compositional solutions, reflecting a good level of understanding of fundamental design concepts, along with adherence to execution accuracy and high academic quality.
This project represents an important foundation for reinforcing critical and visual thinking skills among students, preparing them for more advanced stages in their academic journey in the field of architecture.
