Under the patronage of the Deanship of the College of Nursing and supervised by the faculty members of the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Department, a scientific visit was organized for fourth-year students to Marjan Teaching Hospital / the Psychiatric Unit, as part of the practical training requirements for the current academic year.
The visit aimed to strengthen the practical application of theoretical concepts in mental health nursing and to provide students with hands-on exposure to the workflow within the psychiatric unit. This experience contributed to developing their clinical skills and enhancing their ability to deal with psychiatric patients according to professional and ethical standards.
The program included an introductory tour of the unit’s departments and detailed explanations provided by the nursing and medical staff regarding different cases, diagnostic procedures, and nursing care plans. Students also learned about therapeutic communication techniques and the importance of building professional relationships with patients.
The College Deanship emphasized that such visits reflect its commitment to preparing competent nursing cadres equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, in line with labor market demands and in support of improving the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.
