The President of Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, inaugurated two modern specialized laboratories at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Optometry Technologies, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to develop its educational infrastructure and strengthen the applied component of the teaching and learning process. The inauguration included the Ocular Prosthetics Laboratory, which focuses on providing students with hands-on training in ocular rehabilitation techniques, particularly the fabrication of cosmetic artificial eyes. This contributes to enhancing students’ practical skills and keeping pace with the latest scientific developments in this field. In addition, the Pediatric Eye Examination Laboratory was inaugurated, dedicated to training students in methods of examination and early diagnosis of visual disorders in children, and to promoting the principles of prevention and early detection, thereby positively reflecting on the quality of healthcare based on sound scientific foundations. The inauguration ceremony featured practical applications carried out by fourth-year students while dealing with real cases. The President of the University expressed his admiration for the high level of skills demonstrated by the students, praising their ability to effectively integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application. The opening of these laboratories underscores the university leadership’s commitment to providing an advanced educational environment that supports integration between theoretical and practical aspects, and contributes to preparing qualified graduates capable of meeting the requirements of the health and medical labor market.
