Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College, Prof. Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Deen Abdullah, delivered an awareness workshop on digital harassment on Sunday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m. at the College.
The workshop was attended by Assistant Lecturer Hussein Al-Shammari, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; Assistant Lecturer Mari Imran, Head of the University Women’s Affairs Division; in addition to the female coordinators and members of the Women’s Affairs Committees across the College departments, as well as a number of female teaching and administrative staff.
The session addressed the concept of digital harassment and online blackmail, their forms, causes, and psychological and social impacts on individuals and society. It also highlighted the legal provisions applicable to perpetrators of such acts and emphasized preventive measures at both the individual and community levels.
This activity falls within the executive plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women 2026 (Axis Three, Paragraph 2). It also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
