The Committee for Unifying the Names of Colleges and Departments held its official meeting under the chairmanship of the Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rodhan Salman, with the attendance of committee members concerned with academic and administrative affairs. The meeting was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to develop the organizational structure and strengthen the institution’s academic identity. During the meeting, the current status of the names of colleges and academic departments was reviewed, and areas of variation and inconsistency in the adopted formulations were discussed, in alignment with ministerial regulations and academic standards followed by higher education institutions. The committee also emphasized the importance of unifying titles in a way that accurately reflects precise specializations, enhances clarity for students and relevant stakeholders, and contributes to organizing official correspondence and updating data within administrative and electronic systems. The Dean stressed the necessity of adopting precise and unified standards based on sound academic contexts, in a manner that reinforces the College’s academic standing and keeps pace with quality assurance and institutional accreditation requirements. The committee concluded with several recommendations, most notably adopting a unified format for naming colleges and academic departments in accordance with ministerial guidelines, reviewing all official correspondence and documents to ensure consistency with the new titles, and submitting the final proposals to the competent authorities to obtain the necessary approvals.
