As part of its approach to expanding scientific and academic cooperation and strengthening institutional partnerships, Al Mustaqbal University signed a memorandum of understanding with Al-Nahrain University, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the university’s vision to promote integration between public and private universities and exchange expertise. The memorandum was signed during an official visit by a delegation from Al Mustaqbal University headed by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and included Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Prof. Dr. Mohsen Abdul Ali, Educational Advisor; and Dr. Samir Badrawi, Director of Cultural Relations. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, President of Al-Nahrain University, along with the university’s vice presidents and several deans. The meeting included discussions on prospects for joint scientific and research cooperation between the two universities. Discussions also covered ways to activate cooperation between corresponding colleges and research centers to enhance joint scientific research and integrate academic programs. The signing ceremony included two documentary presentations — the first about Al Mustaqbal University and the second about Al Mustaqbal Teaching Hospital — highlighting the institutional journey, academic and service achievements, and the university’s role in supporting education, training, and community service. The memorandum included several key areas of cooperation, such as conducting joint scientific research, participating in conferences and workshops, exchanging academic visits, joint supervision of postgraduate students, building faculty capacities, providing student summer training, and updating curricula to enhance the quality of higher education and achieve sustainable academic and developmental outcomes. In line with sustainability goals, the memorandum emphasized both parties’ commitment to supporting sustainable development initiatives through environmentally responsible practices, promoting applied research in renewable energy, health, and education, and developing community initiatives that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in accordance with Iraq’s Vision 2030.
