A specialized scientific workshop titled "My Journey to an Eco-Friendly Campus" was held on February 23rd, presented by Asst. Lecturer Ali Salman Hammadi. The workshop featured an analytical study of sustainable environmental practices within the university setting and explored ways to transform daily commutes and campus activities into eco-friendly practices that reduce carbon footprints and enhance sustainability.
The session explored several scientific pillars, most notably fostering environmental awareness among students and staff, and strategies for adopting "Green Transportation" and waste reduction within the campus. Additionally, it highlighted the practical tools necessary for creating a sustainable university environment, emphasizing that environmental conservation is a fundamental cornerstone in institutional development and social responsibility.
The event concluded with an open discussion and the presentation of methodological recommendations aimed at fostering a culture of "Conscious Sustainability". This initiative aligns with Goal 11 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and Goal 13 (Climate Action), by promoting eco-friendly behaviors and building a green campus.
