Conclusion of the 2026 Ministry Information Bank Competition: Al-Mustaqbal University Team Secures Second Place Among Iraqi Universities

In the presence of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the 2026 Ministry Information Bank Competition concluded on the evening of Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The competition was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority, organized by the Student Activities Department, and hosted by Al-Mustaqbal University as part of its ongoing support for meaningful student activities and efforts to enhance their scientific presence across Iraq. The competition witnessed broad participation from 58 public and private universities from various governorates of Iraq. The event spanned from February 22 to 24, 2026, during which student teams underwent two days of intensive qualifying rounds supervised by the designated ministerial committee, amid a highly competitive and academically spirited environment characterized by seriousness and strong sportsmanship. The final results were as follows: Al-Subtien University of Medical Sciences – First Place Al-Mustaqbal University – Second Place Wasit University – Third Place At the conclusion of the event, the University President expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all participating universities, the members of the ministerial committee, and the organizing committees, praising their efforts in making this distinguished scientific event a success. He also congratulated the winning teams and commended the honorable performance of all participating teams, highlighting their high level of knowledge and the positive competitive spirit demonstrated throughout the competition. The University President emphasized that hosting this competition aligns with the University’s vision of providing a stimulating academic environment that encourages creativity and constructive scientific competition, promotes knowledge culture, and develops students’ intellectual capacities, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s initiatives to nurture youth talents, refine their skills, and instill values of excellence and innovation. The Ministry Information Bank Competition is considered one of the most prominent student scientific events, contributing to fostering positive competition among Iraqi university students and enhancing their intellectual and cultural presence, which positively impacts their academic journey and future professional prospects.
