This achievement highlights the rapid advancement of its research performance and its growing international reputation. The university demonstrated exceptional excellence by securing the first position in Iraq for Mechanical Engineering and Civil & Construction Engineering, while ranking second in Business Administration and Accounting. The SCImago ranking is based on rigorous objective criteria, including research output, innovation, and societal impact, utilizing reputable global scientific databases. The University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, emphasized that this success is the result of continuous institutional efforts to support high-quality scientific publishing and enhance the academic environment.
