Department of Chemical Engineering Council Meeting to Discuss Administrative Orders and Sustainability

The Department of Chemical Engineering held an official meeting chaired by the Head of the Department, Dr. Alaa Dhari, and attended by members of the Department Council, to discuss a number of administrative and academic issues listed on the agenda. The meeting reviewed and followed up on recently issued administrative and ministerial orders, as well as the mechanisms for their implementation in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, ensuring smooth administrative workflow and the regularity of the educational process. The attendees also discussed ways to strengthen compliance with official regulations and instructions and to unify procedures within the department in a manner that serves the interests of students and faculty members. In another focus area, the council discussed students’ situations and addressed cases requiring academic or administrative support, emphasizing the importance of providing a motivating educational environment that considers both academic and human aspects and supports students in overcoming challenges throughout their academic journey. The meeting also highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability concepts into the department’s curricula and research activities, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure)—thereby enhancing the department’s role in preparing engineering graduates capable of contributing to sustainable development that serves society and the environment
