However, it is poor in organic matter and essential nutrients, which requires regular addition of fertilizers. Plants grown in sandy soil need frequent irrigation to maintain the required moisture. Its fertility can be improved by mixing it with loamy soil or adding organic fertilizer. This soil is suitable for crops such as carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes that tolerate fast water drainage. Despite its difficulty in retaining nutrients, sandy soil provides a good environment for deep root growth. It can also be used in home gardens and small farms. Sandy soil requires continuous monitoring to prevent desertification and loss of fertility. Adding organic matter helps improve water retention and increase productivity. Sandy soil is an ideal choice in desert and arid regions. Continuous maintenance and effective irrigation strategies ensure healthy and robust plant growth.
