Al-Mustaqbal University achieved a remarkable academic milestone by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and sixth out of 76 Iraqi public and private universities included in the ranking. This achievement was announced Among the results of SCImago Institutions Rankings for 2026, reflecting the university’s rapid progress in academic and research performance and strengthening its position within the higher education system. The SCImago ranking is considered one of the most prominent international rankings that evaluates universities and research institutions based on objective indicators including research productivity, innovation, and societal impact, relying on globally recognized scientific databases. At the level of scientific disciplines and subject areas, the university achieved distinguished positions among Iraqi universities as follows: • Mechanical Engineering: First place • Building and Construction Engineering: First place • Business Administration and Accounting: Second place In this context, the Artificial Intelligence Department continues to support the university’s scientific and research activities by encouraging publication in international journals and developing advanced research projects and intelligent applications that contribute to strengthening the university’s position in global academic rankings. The President of the University, Hassan Shaker Majdi, emphasized that this achievement reflects the outcomes of sustained institutional efforts in supporting scientific research, promoting reputable academic publishing, and developing the academic environment. He also noted that the university will continue its strategic efforts to improve its standing in global rankings and reinforce its presence among leading universities at the regional and international levels.
