Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University and member of the Private Education Council, participated in the sixth session of the Private Education Council held on March 4, 2026, at Al-Zahraa University (A) in Karbala, as part of efforts to monitor and develop the private higher education sector in Iraq.
The Private Education Council is an organizational and advisory body operating under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is responsible for regulating the affairs of private universities and colleges, overseeing their educational and administrative policies, and proposing instructions and guidelines that contribute to improving the quality of higher education and ensuring compliance with academic standards.
The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhad, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs, in the presence of several directors-general, senior ministry staff, and presidents of private universities in Iraq.
The session discussed several important issues related to the work of private universities, including admission and registration mechanisms, the establishment of medical colleges, as well as administrative and organizational requirements that contribute to the stability of the educational process and enhance the quality of academic outcomes.
Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in these meetings reflects its commitment to contributing to the development of the private higher education system in Iraq and strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education to provide an advanced educational environment that meets scientific development requirements and serves the community.
Al-Mustaqbal University is the first among private universities in Iraq.
