College of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University Holds a Workshop Titled “From Silence to Confronting Violence: Women’s Voice in the Contemporary Context”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, and under the supervision of the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college, Professor Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah, Lecturer Shadan Salah Abdul Shabr, a member of the Women’s Affairs Committee in the Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education, delivered a lecture entitled: “The Phenomenon of Violence Against Women.” The lecture was held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at the Psychological Counseling Unit in the college. The event was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Ahmed Ali Jundi, along with a number of faculty members from various departments of the college. The lecture addressed the concept of violence against women, its different forms including physical, psychological, and digital violence, and its causes stemming from cultural and economic factors. It also presented solutions to protect women victims of violence, highlighting mechanisms for confronting this phenomenon in the contemporary context, particularly through community awareness and education. This activity was part of the implementation plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women 2026, specifically Axis Three, Paragraph One. The activity also contributes to achieving Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Quality Education. #College_of_Education #Al_Mustaqbal_University
