The Engineering Technical College at Al-Mustaqbal University Holds a Scientific Seminar in Celebration of Iraqi Women’s Day The Engineering Technical College at Al-Mustaqbal University held an in-person scientific seminar celebrating Iraqi Women’s Day, organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit in the college in cooperation with the Department of Building and Construction Engineering Technologies, on Monday (at 10:30 AM, in the Student Activities Hall in the Engineering Building, with the attendance of a number of faculty members, staff, and students. The event was held under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and followed up by the Dean of the Engineering Technical College Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, as part of the university’s efforts to support the role of women and strengthen their presence in scientific and engineering fields. The seminar included a scientific lecture entitled “The Role of Women in Earth Development, Civil Engineering, and Interior Design to Become Leaders in Design and Organization.” The lecture was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zainab Hussein Ali and Lecturer Dr. Alaa Hussein Abdul Amir, highlighting the importance of empowering women and emphasizing their role in engineering and design fields, as well as shedding light on their contributions to the development of the construction sector and their participation in the path of development. During the event, the Dean of the Engineering Technical College, Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, delivered a speech congratulating Iraqi women on this occasion, praising their important role in building society and their distinguished contributions in the fields of science and work, while affirming the college’s continuous support for women’s talents and its commitment to providing an academic environment that promotes creativity and excellence. The seminar also witnessed active interaction from attendees through discussions and interventions that emphasized the importance of supporting and empowering women and enhancing their participation in various scientific and professional fields. It is worth noting that Iraqi Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 3rd in recognition of the role of women in Iraqi society and their active participation in various sectors.
