Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rodhan, and under the supervision of the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit in the college, Prof. Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah, Ms. Rola Saeed Habib, a member of the Women’s Affairs Committee in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, delivered an educational workshop on empowering women in the fields of artificial intelligence. The workshop was held on Thursday, February 26, in Hall 301 of the Humanities Building.
The workshop addressed several key themes, including:
• Women as a Technological Partner: Highlighting the historical and contemporary contributions of women in developing and programming artificial intelligence algorithms, while challenging stereotypes that confine technology to a specific group.
• Artificial Intelligence and Promising Opportunities: Demonstrating how AI opens new horizons for women in freelance work, scientific research, and managing entrepreneurial projects from home or office environments.
• Ethics of Technology: Emphasizing the role of women in bringing ethical and human dimensions to AI technologies to ensure fairness and reduce algorithmic bias.
• Empowerment Recommendations: The workshop stressed the importance of advancing digital literacy among female students and academic staff to keep pace with the global labor market.
Objectives of the workshop:
1. Enhancing Confidence: Encouraging female students and staff to engage in advanced technological fields.
2. Digital Awareness: Understanding artificial intelligence tools and how to utilize them in academic and educational research.
3. Institutional Support: Highlighting the role of the college administration and department leadership in supporting initiatives that enhance women’s capabilities within the university community.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing that artificial intelligence is not merely a set of technical tools, but a new space for creativity and innovation where women can leave a remarkable impact.
This activity comes within the framework of implementing the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls 2026 (Axis Three, Paragraph Two), and it also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
