Mental health is considered an integral part of public health, as psychological disorders directly affect the quality of life of individuals and societies. Disorders such as depression and anxiety contribute significantly to the global health burden.
Lack of awareness and social stigma often lead to delays in diagnosis and treatment, which increases the severity of mental health problems and their impact on physical health and productivity. Integrating mental health services into primary health care is therefore a fundamental step toward improving access to treatment.
Enhancing mental health awareness through education and media plays an important role in reducing stigma and improving health outcomes. Accordingly, health systems should give mental health a priority equal to that of physical health.
