The celebration took place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in the Student Activities Hall, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, who delivered a speech praising the historical role of women and congratulating them on their special day, highlighting the significant achievements of women across various fields. The event was attended by a number of deans, department heads, faculty members, women’s affairs unit coordinators, and students. Excellence in Management and Organization The ceremony witnessed the outstanding role of M.M. Rola Saad Habib, lecturer at the College of Education / Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, who hosted and managed the event with elegance and professionalism, adding a sophisticated and organized touch to the proceedings. In addition, M.M. Mari Imran Al-Taie, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, delivered a speech emphasizing the status of women as a “beacon of light” guiding the way, contributing to shaping generations and building the future, while praising the efforts of the unit and committee coordinators in organizing distinguished activities at the university. Cultural and Artistic Activities The celebration included a diverse program featuring: • Photo exhibition: Documenting the activities of the Women’s Affairs Division across various university colleges. • Art exhibition: Presented by the College of Fine Arts, showcasing creative student artworks. • Heritage session: Highlighting authentic Iraqi heritage and the traditional attire of Iraqi women. • Poetry segment: Two female students recited poems in both Modern Standard Arabic and the local dialect, earning praise and engagement from the audience.
