Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rodhan Salman, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college, under the supervision of the Head of the Unit Prof. Dr. Thanaa Bahaa Al-Din Abdullah, organized an awareness seminar titled “Women Between Challenges and Ambition.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Tayeh Ahimed, a member of the Women’s Affairs Committee in the Department of English Education. It was held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Psychological Counseling Room at the college, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and administrative staff.
The seminar addressed the vital role that women play in building and advancing society, emphasizing their active contribution to various scientific, social, and economic fields. It highlighted that women’s presence in these areas represents a fundamental pillar for sustainable societal development.
The seminar also shed light on the major challenges women may face, including social constraints, the difficulty of balancing family responsibilities with professional commitments, as well as certain professional and psychological obstacles. Despite these challenges, women have continued to pursue their ambitions and demonstrate their capabilities across different fields through education, strong determination, and family and community support.
The seminar emphasized that women’s ambition and determination enable them to overcome obstacles and transform challenges into opportunities for success and progress, thereby strengthening their role in community development and contributing to building a brighter future.
This activity falls within the implementation plan of the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls for 2026 (Axis Three / Paragraph Two) and contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
