Caladium is considered one of the most popular ornamental foliage plants, cultivated for its large and colorful leaves. This plant is distinguished by its heart-shaped leaves, which come in a variety of colors including green, red, white, and pink. Caladium belongs to the Araceae family and is scientifically known as Caladium bicolor. Botanical Description: Caladium is a perennial herb that grows from underground tubers. Its leaves are large, delicate, and adorned with attractive colors and distinctive patterns. The plant can reach a height of approximately 30–60 cm. Its flowers are small and inconspicuous, so the plant is primarily grown for the beauty of its foliage. Environment and Cultivation Methods: Caladium grows well in warm, humid areas with indirect light. It prefers light, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. The plant is usually propagated through tubers and requires moderate watering, avoiding waterlogging. Importance of Caladium: Used as an ornamental plant in gardens and homes. Its colorful leaves enhance the aesthetic appeal of any space. Can be grown in pots or garden beds. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor garden arrangements.
