Definition of Waste Recycling Waste recycling is the process of collecting used or discarded materials, processing them, and converting them into new materials or products that can be reused instead of being disposed of. This process includes various materials such as paper, plastic, glass, metals, and organic waste that can be converted into compost. Importance of Waste Recycling in Environmental Protection Recycling contributes to environmental protection in several ways, including: Reducing Environmental Pollution: Recycling helps decrease the amount of waste that is dumped in landfills or burned, thereby reducing air, water, and soil pollution.
