Al-Mustaqbal University organizes a workshop on women's empowerment in the context of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering Technologies – Department of Electrical Engineering, in collaboration with the University’s Women Affairs Division, organized an awareness and development workshop under the supervision of Engineer Shams Salim Abbas on Thursday, March 26, 2026, entitled: “Empowering Women in the Context of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence: A Strategic Approach to Achieving Sustainable Development”, under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies in empowering women, by developing their digital skills and enhancing their participation opportunities across various sectors, contributing to sustainable development.
The workshop’s topics included the role of modern technologies in creating new job opportunities for women, the importance of investing in digital education and training, as well as discussing the challenges women face in the digital work environment and ways to address them. The workshop also emphasized the importance of building women’s capacities in innovation and entrepreneurship, strengthening their role as active contributors to the digital economy.
This initiative came as part of a series of activities organized by Al-Mustaqbal University to promote the status of women and highlight their contributions to building a sustainable future, in line with the University’s strategic vision and the Third National Plan for Women, Security, and Peace (2025–2030), reflecting a focus on protecting women and enhancing their role in society.
The workshop reaffirmed the University’s efforts to promote equality. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
